WHAT WE DO

We want to empower people in social movements to do public relations work – strategically, critically and made to inspire. in order to do this, we offer workshops and consulting. We are happy to adapt to what you need.

We are a collective of seven people whose experience with public relations mainly comes from grassroots work in the climate justice movement in Germany.

AWARENESS ABOUT DISCRIMINATION

In our workshops, we strive to create an atmosphere that is sensitive to discrimination. It is our goal that the learnings we convey are critical of domination and counteract different forms of discrimination.

POSSIBLE TOPICS

Our workshops are a mixture of practical exercises and theoretical input – with lots of anecdotes and examples!

GETTING AN OVERVIEW

Public relations can be quite overwhelming. So many possibilities! What has to be done? And how do we structure all this in a sensible way? In this unit we will get an overview with you – because public relations is much more than just giving interviews!

STRATEGIC PUBLIC RELATIONS

Together, we look at how you set up your public relations work: What political goals do you have? Who do you need to reach with which messages? In which environment are you operating, according to which logic do which media function? What are „frames“ and why are they difficult to negate?

TELLING YOUR OWN STORY

Our public relations work is based on stories that put important information into context. Because unlike just listing arguments, stories are easy to remember – and can touch and inspire people! There are many stories that are usually overheard. We want to support you in telling them well.

WRITING & SENDING PRESS RELEASES

Press releases are important tools if you want to get your issues into the big media. We explain what you need to keep in mind when writing and sending them.

GIVING INTERVIEWS

Together we’ll look at how to prepare well for an interview, what you should pay attention to during the interview itself – and then practise it right away. But be careful: don’t just answer the questions!

PLANNED TOPICS

We’re currently working on these topics. You’re welcome to ask us about them and we’ll see what’s already possible.

WHAT DOES PRESS WORK DO TO US?

Do we do public relations that change the world, or does public relations change us? We want to talk with you about what it means for people from social movements to be in the public eye, the dynamics of press working groups and what it all means for the contexts in which we are embedded.

DISCRIMINATION & PUBLIC RELATIONS

Discrimination is often particularly evident in public relations work: who speaks and who doesn’t? Is discrimination criticised, concealed or even reproduced in the process? Who does the invisible work in the background? We want to contribute to empowering people who experience discrimination – and to encourage privileged people to critically self-reflect.

SOCIAL MEDIA & WEBSITES

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc… groups often try to be present on as many social media platforms as possible. But which channels do you use to reach whom? What logic do you have to follow in each case? How do you quickly create a well-structured, appealing website and what’s important for photos and videos? We want to address these questions and more with you.

WHAT KIND OF BIRD IS THAT?

A wren. Wrens live close to the ground and are small, but they can be as loud as a truck. Just like people who fight together for justice.
